Science Tech News: What Planet Do You Think Is the "third Rock From the Sun"?

Earth is considered to be the "third rock from the sun." That phrasing is used because Earth is the third planet from the sun, as well as being a terrestrial (rocky) planet.

Earth is approximately 93 million miles from the sun. The other two planets before Earth are Mercury and Venus. Going away from the sun on the other side of Earth, the planets are Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto was once considered a planet, but has since been classified as a dwarf planet.

The three other planets closest to the sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, are also terrestrial planets, while Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are Jovian planets.
