With an atmospheric temperature of -224 degrees Celsius and a surface temperature of -197 degrees Celsius, Uranus is a very cold planet with strong winds. It is the coldest planet in the solar system.

Uranus was discovered in 1871 by Sir William Herschel, and it also is called a gas giant. Uranus’ atmosphere consists of hydrogen and helium, and its center contains frozen methane and ammonia. These substances cause Uranus' blue-green color.

Uranus is tilted over on its side, and it takes 84 Earth years for this planet to make one complete orbit around the sun. It also has rings and 27 moons. The names of some of Uranus' moons are Miranda, Oberon and Titania.
